Policies We Champion

Advancing Housing and Land Use Policy Reform

Housing, transportation, and climate are regional challenges that require regional solutions. That’s why both local and state policies are essential to solving Colorado’s housing shortage. Below are a few examples of policies we helped develop at the state level and that we’re now working to implement in partnership with local governments and community groups.

Why Housing Costs So Much—and How We Can Fix It

Colorado is facing a severe housing shortage, which drives up costs and pushes people further from jobs, transit, and essential services. Decades of restrictive policies have made it difficult to build homes where they’re needed most – increasing commute times, transportation costs, local air pollution, and planet-warming carbon emissions. Without action, housing will only become more expensive and out of reach for working families
